Nexus Robot 14162: Mecanum wheel set with 100 mm diameter, 50 mm width and 9 rollers per wheel. Roller material: PP+PE. Load capacity: 45 kg per set.

Nexus Robot 14162 – Mecanum Wheel Set 100 mm

The Nexus Robot 14162 is a Mecanum wheel set with a 100 mm diameter. Each wheel has a width of 50 mm and 9 rollers. Wheel body: Aluminum alloy. Roller material: PP+PE.

Applications for the 14162

The 14162 series is a 100 mm solution with PP+PE rollers for robot platforms and conveying tasks. Selecting the correct version and mechanical connection is as important as checking the dimensions.

Robotic platforms
AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles)
Research and development projects
Automated conveyor systems

Suitability for a specific project depends on the load, floor surface, drive, control system and mechanical design.

Version and chassis arrangement – 14162

The 14162 is supplied as a set of four wheels. It contains two left and two right wheels. Plan the wheel positions together with the individual control of the drives. Lateral, diagonal and rotational platform movement requires correctly arranged wheels and coordinated drives.

Materials and dimensions of the 14162

Wheel body: Aluminum alloy. Roller material: PP+PE. The 50 mm width and specified weight of 400 g x 4 are included in the table below for installation planning.

Technical Specifications – Nexus Robot 14162

Manufacturer / Brand	Nexus Robot
Manufacturer Part Number / MPN	14162
noDNA Part Number / SKU	22081
Version	Mecanum Wheel Set
Number of wheels	4 (2 left, 2 right)
Diameter	100 mm (4 inch)
Width	50 mm
Number of rollers per wheel	9

Load capacity note: The specification 45 kg per set must be used with its stated basis. Do not derive a higher platform load by simply multiplying this figure; load distribution, center of gravity and driving maneuvers must be considered in the design.

Mounting and mechanical connection of the 14162

Before installing the 14162, check the wheel interface, shaft diameter, fasteners, bearing arrangement and clearance for the rollers. Select the hub or coupling from the actual interface and technical drawing. Wheel diameter alone does not establish compatibility with a particular accessory hub.

Nexus lists the 18007 6 mm aluminum mounting hub as a compatible hub for the 14162. This option requires a suitable 6 mm shaft.

To integrate the Nexus Robot 14162, plan the wheel, hub or coupling and motor shaft as one mechanical connection. The specified 50 mm wheel width needs to be considered alongside the position of the motor in the frame. Use the mounting interface and available technical files to establish how the wheel is secured and how much space remains between the wheel body, frame and drive.

The rollers need clearance around the entire wheel circumference. Allow space for screw heads, brackets and side covers, and consider wheel position, ground clearance and support of the drive. Matching the shaft bore is only one part of selecting the connection: the hub interface and fasteners must also suit the wheel. When replacing a wheel on an existing chassis, compare the removed component before reusing its motor or bracket.

14162 for robotics, AGV, AMR and mobile Mecanum platforms

With a specified size of 100 mm (4 inch), the Nexus 14162 can be considered for a mobile robot or transport platform design. A Mecanum chassis may suit AGV, AMR or driverless transport concepts where sideways movement and controlled alignment are required. These movements depend on the correct wheel arrangement and coordinated drives.

In research and teaching, a suitably assembled robot can serve as a test platform for vehicle kinematics, navigation and control. Mechanical wheel selection and drive control are considered together: where is each wheel positioned, how is each motor controlled, and how much space is available in the frame? Prototype chassis planning provides an opportunity to address these questions before assembly.

For intralogistics or automated material handling, the 14162 version needs to suit the load and floor surface. Its PP+PE roller material, dimensions and stated capacity provide the product-specific basis for selection. Consider the vehicle weight and intended payload. When modifying an existing robot, also compare the mounting interface and the other wheels against the revised build.

Planning the complete chassis with 14162

The 14162 is a set of four wheels. Plan mounting positions before assembly and configure the controller for the actual wheel arrangement. The interface, wheel weight and intended maneuvers are relevant when choosing motors and hubs. A wheel set does not provide the design of the complete vehicle. Check mechanical connections, space requirements and permissible loading for all wheel positions together before building the chassis.
