Phidgets 1047_2B Phidget Encoder

PLEASE NOTE: Since parts and components are obsolete and no longer available, the 1047_2B has been upgraded to a new processor which is no longer supported under Phidget21. If you are using old libraries, you must upgrade to Phidget22 before you can use this Phidget.

The PhidgetEncoder Highspeed 4-Input can be connected to any 5V quadrature encoder. A quadrature encoder is the most commonly used feedback device for a DC or stepper motor. With an encoder, you can track how far your motor has rotated, which then allows you to control the position and speed in your code. This phidget connects to your computer via USB.

Features:

Four digital inputs for reading limit switches or pushbuttons.
Functions with all 0-5 V quadrature encoders -Simultaneously reads four incremental encoders with line driver, open collector, or push-pull output circuits
Read at speeds up to 250,000 quadrature cycles per second
Power saving options - you can turn off the card via software when not in use. When powered off, the card draws 30 mA of current.
Reports a millisecond timestamp for each position change to help calculate Velocity
