Phidgets ENC1001_0 Quadrature Encoder Phidget

Precise rotational position measurement for encoder systems

The Phidget ENC1001 Quadrature Encoder Interface enables precise evaluation of quadrature encoders with 0–5 V push-pull signals. Quadrature encoders are among the most commonly used feedback sensors for DC motors and stepper motors, as they provide reliable feedback on rotation angle, position and speed.

The ENC1001 can process encoder signals at very high speeds. The interface supports up to 250,000 quadrature cycles per second and achieves data rates of up to 1000 Hz. This makes the module ideal for applications that require precise motion control.

The encoder interface is connected to the computer via a Phidgets VINT hub and can be integrated into various programming languages via the Phidget22 API. This allows the detected position or speed to be integrated directly into software solutions or control programmes.

Thanks to its high counting rate of up to 1,000,000 pulses per second and a time resolution of 15 ns, the ENC1001 enables extremely accurate detection of encoder signals. In addition, the encoder output can be deactivated if necessary to reduce energy consumption.

Typical areas of application include robotics, automation, motor control, position measurement and research and development Projects.
