NEXUS Robot's 100mm (3.94 inch) double plastic omni wheel is a durable, rugged, double-row wheel that offers 360° movement as well as rotational and lateral maneuverability. As with all Omni-Wheels, the wheel's tread consists of rollers whose axes of rotation are at a 90° angle to the wheel's axis of rotation. This allows the wheel to be moved in the axial direction of rotation. The greatest advantage of an Omni-Wheel is that a vehicle with four Omni-Wheels can move in virtually any direction without having to change the orientation of the chassis. With very low noise, this type of wheel can move stably and flexibly during operation. After the Omni Wheel is based on omnidirectional drive technology, they can be used to freely control a robot in extremely confined spaces.
